Growing up with yearly family camping trips, Douglas Dirks developed a strong appreciation for the outdoors and the traditions that bring people together around it. Those early experiences inspired a passion for preserving the spirit of camping while creating opportunities for others to enjoy the same connection to nature. With an entrepreneurial mindset and a love for the land, Douglas envisioned transforming Pearl Pines into a place that blends rustic simplicity with a sense of quiet luxury and tranquility.

Through a partnership with WYLDSTAY, that vision has continued to grow. WYLDSTAY Pearl Pines now offers a place where guests can explore, unwind, and experience the beauty of nature in comfort. Built through dedication and care, the project is truly a labor of love—created to help people make lasting memories, find adventure, and enjoy the outdoors all from our Northern Michigan campground.
